Hello new year and new adventures. No matter your adventure style, one things for sure, we all like to be warm (and dry!) this time of year. We rounded up a few different ways to keep you warm while enjoying the great outdoors this snowy and wet winter.
When you live above whatever parallel that makes winter last longer than a couple months a year, you want to be protected in the elements, from walking your dog to hiking into the mountains. We’ve chosen a few styles from the Fjallraven line (meaning: Arctic Fox in Swedish, very cool), a company founded on well designed outdoor products, a responsibility to nature and our environment as well as social responsibility.
Shopping, it’s a love hate relationship for some, but smart shopping is everyones best friend. When purchasing technical gear, you have many things to check off the list: (#1) Quality, please don’t break on me next week, which means that (#2) Price, don’t break the bank either, but if you do, buy wisely and make sure there is a warranty offered and that at least you’ll have it forever because (#3) Appearance, at the end of the day, we can’t argue style and well, black never goes out of style.
Our choice picks from the lineup
Greenland Winter: Classic and comfortable! Your everyday jacket, but with a little extra fleece love on the inside. Made with G-1000® fabric, which makes it both durable and wind & water resistant.
Nuuk Parka: If you’re doing any expeditions, this is your jacket! The perfect long and roomy women’s parka that keeps your bum and thighs warm. Even in unpredictable weather conditions, this jacket has you covered as it protects against the wind and rain at the same time as the Supreme Micro Loft padding keeps you warm in really low temperatures. Detachable artificial fur that keeps snow storms away from your face, so feel free to join Han Solo on planet Hoth and join the Rebels!
Iceland Anorak: If you enjoy outdoor activities, this one has your name on it. This functional anorak comes wind and water resistant ready with G-1000 Original technology. The durable weave releases more moisture than water proof garments which reduces the risk of becoming cold due to base layers becoming damp. Perfect for active outdoor adventurists who ski/snowboard, hike, ice skate, pretty much anyone who basically lives outdoors! Side note* G-1000 fabric can be impregnated with Greenland Wax for extra protection against the elements, instant upgrade!
Luhkka No. 3 Cape: Last but not least, this bad boy is not only extra style points, but this reversible cape is also protecting you with knee-length, G-1000 Eco fabric with exclusive Shetland wool from the renowned cloth mill Abraham Moon on the inside. Perfect for winter surfers, or coastal dwellers, and outdoor fashionistas.
Flashback to Fargo, you didn’t think we would forget accessories did you!? Well of course not, here’s a hot little hat we couldn’t resist. Nordic Heater: Extra warm hat that withstands wind and rain in both polar climates and biting winds. The outer material is soft, quiet polyester with fluorocarbon-free impregnation.
